Background

Thomas grew up in a leafy suburb in Newark with his parents (who still live there) and younger brother (now in college). His father is a policeman, and still with NYPD. He instilled Thomas with a strong sense of right and wrong and inspired him to follow in his footsteps.

Hard work and determination resulted in Thomas's investigative prowess and promotion to detective/sergeant before he decided to leave the force. He was beginning to develop a reputation for being unlucky after several nasty experiences on duty (nearly run over, beaten by street thugs, and finally shot in the lung). He still has a few contacts from the job.

Leaving the force was a difficult decision for Thomas and one he couldn't adequately explain to his family and friends. He doesn't like keeping secrets from them but understands the necessity and is willing to lead a double life for now. After wrestling with his conscience he eventually decided that that there were larger issues at stake in the spiritual world that he needed to be involved with.

In addition, Thomas is privately concerned with the seemingly unregulated and purely financially driven nature of Orpheus and has some vague plan to try and keep an eye on them.

Thomas used to live in a nice apartment, but recently lost everything in a fire that gutted the place (0 Resources). He stayed with his parents briefly after the fire, and now lives somewhere much cheaper with the few possesions he's managed to replace since then.
