- 497
- Bishop Roger imprisoned, land confiscated. Salisbury joins Cerdic's army and conquers Isle of Wight, rewarded with gift of 10 manors. Essex demands tribute, Salisbury refuses; mutual counter-raiding was ineffectual. Salisbury knights unsuccessfully look for Castle Sauvage. (Elsewhere, Thebert usurps seat of Marlboro, Ulfius allies with Sussex, Idres takes Tintagel, sundry outlying manors change hands.)
- 498
- Bishop Roger released from prison after intervention from Dubricus. Cerdic calls on Salisbury to take western Hampshire. A short battle leads to a long siege of Hantonne. Salisbury knights negotiate release of Count Hampshire's wife and daughters, then smuggle out his son. They engineer a distraction in the Wessex army, allowing Count Hampshire and much of his army to escape. Western Hampshire taken by Cerdic. Cerdic demands homage from Salisbury. Salisbury regents reject this, end up killing Cerdic and escaping with his son as a hostage.
- 499
- King Pellinore, chasing the Questing Beast, is captured by the goddess Diana in the Forest of Gloom. Knights of Salisbury rescue him, at some cost. Sir Borg and Sir Rholyn express discomfort with the conduct of the current regents of Salisbury. Salisbury sends forces to aid Count Hampshire against the Saxons in Wessex.
- 500

Sir Eliot is killed by berserkers; most of the other other Player Knights are nearly killed. The battle overall is a success. Half of Silchester is conquered, and Duke Ulfius pays homage to the child Earl Robert. Meanwhile, Djell the Spriggan takes Woodhouse castle.

- 506
- Salisbury refuses offers of alliance from both King Idres and King Nantelod. Player Knights escort Nineve, Lady of the Lake, into the Forest Sauvage. She helps an old friend die and captures her last breath in a scarf. Some Player Knights secretly use it to kill Djell and the land around Woodhouse castle.
