Meetup Block Event Creation
In 2016 the MK-RPG started using the website service Meetup.com here is a brief outline on how to make efficient use of Meetup event creation.
If you are adding more Long or Short Block events you can copy an existing one but you will still need to follow the Automatically repeat this meetup carefully.

Details
Usual format is general details about what a Long or Short Block is above with intro details for first timers below; any Meetup event could be somebodies first.
Provided below are examples for cut and paste.
Long Block Details Example
This is a series of 8 weeks (a Long Block) focusing on longer role-play games. The games played during these blocks tend to continue in future Long Blocks after a Short Block (3 weeks).
A first evening of a Block is usually the best to join but Game Masters usually will accept new members any week. There will be many concurrent groups playing different games so there should be something for you.
Currently playing games: [[1]] Proposed games: [[2]]
The entrance we use is at the rear of York House. If you arrive 5 minutes before start we usually gather by the back door before entering. We usually chat for a few minutes and then split off to different rooms to play.
We are very friendly so upon entering ask for an Exec Member, a Meetup Organiser, or the person running a game you are interested in. You can request beforehand to have two people at the door to meet you rather than enter a crowded room.
You can turn up empty handed and the basics can be provided. However it is recommended to bring a bottled drink (not alcoholic), pen/paper, snacks to share, and if you already have them, dice.
Your first two sessions are free so you can trial the club. The cost of hiring the venue works out to £8 (£4 concessions) per person per month. There's no profit involved, it's purely costs.
Please comment below or Contact Us ( [[3]] ) with any questions.
Short Block Details Example
This is a series of 3 weeks (a Short Block) focusing on one-off or shorter role-play games.
There will be many concurrent groups playing different games so there should be something for you. There's no agenda about what games get played; people propose games they want to run on the first night of the Short Block and the most popular ones get played. Here is a link to a page where proposed games are sometimes listed beforehand on our website ( [[4]] ).

You should add two appropriate people.
Automatically repeat this meetup
At the time of writing MK-RPG has an 11 week cycle (8 Long Block weeks plus 3 Short Block), Meetup allows for a maximum between repeat events of 10 weeks (inclusive). Therefore we have to create 1 event which repeats 8 times and then another event which repeats 3 times.
Set as follows
Repeat By week(s)
Repeat every 1 week on: Tue
Stop repeating: <1-6 days after the 8th week for a Long Block, or 3rd week for a Short Block>
Note: If the stop repeating date is the same day as the last event; Meetup will not add the last one.
This will make 8 (or 3) events for a Long (or Short) block, all with (1/8) or (1/3) in the title. Afterwards, on it's own event page, the title of a repeat event can be quickly in-line edited for the appropriate sequential order. Showing which evening in a block it is is useful for DMs planning their games and newbies finding the first in a block.
Additionally these settings group each Block of events on the front page of meetup. It will list a large event (1/8) box and one line events (2/8), (3/8) and (4/8) underneath with the group finishing with a link of "more meetups" which will show the remaining 4 as one-liners. If events are created individually this will not happen.
Charging for this meetup
We do not charge via Meetup, we explain subs in Details so this section is turned off.
Note: On a new or copied event Meetup seems to like re-checking the "Yes, I will offer a refund" checkbox.
RSVP settings
Usual settings:
No attendee limit
Allow members to go with up to 2 guests
Members can RSVP starting now
Members can RSVP until When the Meetup starts
Ask question when members RSVP
We don't usually ask questions.
